She has an exemplary ability to excel in high traffic hospitals such as Broward General Medical Center (BGMC), a Level 1 Trauma Center that exceeds 350 patient visits per day. Dolores worked for 7 years at BGMC as an ER Department and Trauma Nurse.
While at Broward General she was instrumental in developing the Clinical Ladder recognition program for Nursing Excellence in the ED. She was also a lead clinical preceptor and developed the nursing orientation handbook “Introduction to the Environment of Care.”
Dolores graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Masters’ of Science in Nursing and is Board Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center Adult Nurse Practitioner Program.
Dolores is a Certified Trauma Nurse (TNCC) and holds additional certifications in advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and is an active member of the Emergency Nurses Association.
Dolores extensive experience working in emergency departments lead her to become more and more concerned and frustrated with the consistent patient ailments that could have been treated with education in diet, exercise and overall Health and Wellness. This opened her eyes to adult Health, women’s Health, the problem of addiction and holistic preventative Health and Wellness which would change the direction of her career.
Dolores’ focus is on Health, Wellness, Prevention and Maintenance. She has done extensive research on the development of a nursing model using Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners in the workplace and outpatient settings to ensure compliance with routine preventive screening , preventative medicine and education of patient populations which would eventually decrease future medical problems for employees. This model utilizes other specialties such as dieticians, personal trainers and fitness professionals, chiropractors, and mind-body specialists who provide yoga and meditation for stress relief and general improvements in Health and wellbeing. Her masters level thesis demonstrates that a synergistic approach to health and wellbeing will be the future model for healthcare and prevention.
Dolores has become an instrumental part in the Palm Beach and Broward County acute, critical and internal medicine community. She has an excellent way about her that portrays her love for the field of medicine and she demonstrates a genuine compassionate care for her patients.
In her free time Dolores practices the Healthy lifestyle that she instills in her patients. She enjoys training, running, competitive obstacle events and adds to community enhancements through participating in races that support local charities and volunteering.
